Ecuador Dental Savings

Ecuador Dental Savings are terrific here in Cotacachi Ecuador as Merri and I discovered when we went to the dentist last week.
Merri had a dental extraction which required minor surgery. I had my teeth cleaned and one broken tooth rebuilt. The total dental bill? $42….for both of us. That’s a huge dental savings.
What is more one of our delegates, a dentist kindly offered Eduardo, one of El Meson’s staff, to have all his dental work done, teeth repaired and replaced. Eduardo required the following:
Dental Work Required Dental Cost
Dental Cleaning $15
Dental Extraction tooth #32 $15
2 Dental reconstructions #13 & 22 $40
Six tooth false tooth bridge top $240
Six tooth false tooth bridge lower $240
Total Dental Cost $550
The dentist who made this generous contribution wrote back:
“Thank you so much for taking care of this dental care. Eduardo is really developing a servant’s heart with patrons at the hotel and I hope he serves you and El Meson well for many years to come. Wow, what a dental savings. That price is very reasonable. My 90 year old mom just had a single front tooth resin/cap done and it cost me (with professional discount) just a little more than you paid for all of this work!”
We are more than pleased with this dentist and our dental savings.
There are two more huge reasons beyond the low cost dental costs! Merri does not take x-rays nor will she take any type of pain killer. No need to ask why. As a fully informed adult this is her wish. Nothing more really needs to be said. In the US most dentists will not treat her nor, with the way liability issues work, can they afford to do this.
Some are sympathetic but won’t (can’t) budge. Others treat us like we are ignorant or worse if we do not immediately submit to their demands on how they treat our bodies. We are not expected to be in the decision making loop.
The dentist was concerned and wanted to make sure that Merri understood there would be pain, but was really polite and accepting. She was grateful that he was open. After cutting out and then extracting the tooth his comment was: “I learn something every day. Incredible! In 26 years of practice I have never seen someone able to do this before.” This was good interaction.
The next thing we love about the good doctor is his really fine no pain laser equipment. You will not see any better anywhere.
Please share with us your expereinces in dental and medical savings.
