After staying at Jim cheek’s home he drove me into Manta. It was still carnival. One word of advice, do book some accomodation before you even think about setting out to the coast during this vacation. Manta was every bit as much a mad house as Crucita. The main beach, Murcielago was packed to the gills. Its quite a large beach but somehow when I looked at it from a distance there wasn’t much sand to be seen; just bodies.

I had already made contact with some real estate connections so rather than struggle for a spot to lay a towel on the beach I was moving around the relatively quiet (until the evening at least) streets in town visiting a few projects. In Manta itself you have quite a few sub divisions, many with nice houses and then many condo buildings being erected and snapped up. The going price is between $70 and $120 per square foot for a condo depending on when you buy and where its located. Below are some photos of a couple of new projects being built. The views they’ll have are stunning.

Does that sound good? .. Beach living whilst living close to all amenities and 20 minutes to an airport that is projected to have international flights direct to Miami in the not too distant future. The locals are used to foreignes because the US base is closeby and hs brought in some additional trade for the locals, especially the bars and restaurants … of which there are many. Try Mama Rosa’s on Avenida Flavio Reyes, great Italian food.
