Information on Cotacachi, that is, real information is at a premium. By posting dozens, even hundreds of photos here at Ecuador Living we hope we are giving you a clue to what it might be like to live in Ecuador or get a feel for a vacation here.

Although Cotacachi is not typical of Ecuador nor Ecuador typical of other Latin American countries, at least not here in the Andes, everything, people, culture, street scenes, is more ordered. Yet not so ordered that it is sterile; it’s a nice balance.

I’ve traveled to Peru, Brazil (just a little), Colombia and Venezuela. Yet here I am settled in Ecuador. My son is in school, I have work and friends and more outdoor life at my doorstep than I can deal with. The opportunities are endless. So this is why we want to show why life in Ecuador is good yet maintain a balanced perspective too. That’s why information here on Cotacachi and other parts of Ecuador can come in so handy for you to make informed choices for vacations or lifestyle changes.

So to give more information on Cotacachi we are starting off a series of photo essays looking first at Calle Bolivar, one of the principal streets in Cotacachi.
