“This has to be one of the nicest properties in all of Quito – a huge penthouse apartment (11th floor), in Edificio Pallares on Avenida 12 de Octubre, across the street from the Swiss Hotel. It is about 310 square meters in size, (3,250 sq ft.) with beautiful views of the city and mountains in all four directions.
It has 3 huge bedrooms (each with its own private bathroom), two other bathrooms, many living and dining areas, a large kitchen and maid’s quarters.
I just spent $35,000 totally remodeling the apartment. All of the gorgeous hardwood floors, trim, and cabinetry in the apartment have been refinished, all bathrooms completely redone with upgraded tile, faucets, fixtures, etc., including a large jacuzzi tub in the master. The kitchen cabinets, flooring, and appliances have all been replaced, as well as all the pipes in the apartment (and in the entire building).
It is a spectacular place, perfect for a diplomat or executive. The building offers 24-hour live security, a fitness center, and a private parking area (with 2 parking spaces that will sell with the apartment as well as a large storeroom). I have many photos available if you would like to see them.
I have priced the apartment at $229,000, which is a very reasonable price for an apartment of this size and quality, especially in this location. I have a realtor in Quito who is handling the showings and sale for me in my absence (I am in Florida).

I can comment that condos this large and in such a prime location rarely come on the market. The street below is full of restaurants and a busy street but with the condo being so high up I suspect the noise is either non-existant or extremely minimal. It would be a 20 minute taxi ride to the airport during off-peak traffic.
