Here is an Ecuador banking update from a subscriber who just read the Garyascott.cm message Ecuador Banking Notes.

Hi Gary,  I am glad I read the tip about checking for fake bills right after making an ATM withdrawal!

We have had good luck sending wire transfers from our personal Washington Mutual (now Chase) account in Florida to various banks in Ecuador.  They don’t charge an outgoing wire fee.  Even if we have to pay a fee to receive the funds in Ecuador, when we need to send several thousand dollars and have it available quickly this has worked well for us.  Our Chase business account, however, does charge an outgoing fee.

There are many ways to bank in Ecuador… we use ATMs for small stuff and wire transfers to our attorney for larger deals such as real estate purchases.
