The listing of the month is a Cotacachi house for sale.
Merri and I have been buying and selling real estate throughout Ecuador for more than a decade… and though recent trips have not been to Cotacachi… (we have Ecuador real estate in the cloud forests and on the coast that need attention also), Cotacachi still holds a special place in our heart. We have a hotel, and several houses and apartments there. Cotacachi is where we call home in Ecuador.
House and condo builder, Jorge Quilambaci, also has a special closeness with us. He built our first house in Cotacachi, of adobe, which we still maintain, so we especially stayed in touch with him as he built two more Cotacachi adobe houses like ours next door and just below our house. We talked Jorge into adobe as this is the original Andean building material (and we believe) most comfortable and… natural as it breaths.

Timbuktu is in the valley of Malacatos which is a valley that neighbors Vilcabamba, (10-15 minutes by car). The house is close to the village of Malacatos in the Landangui neighborhood in Loja Province.
