The Central Flower market in Cuenca always draws visitors to buy armloads of these beauties…nothing quite like flowers.

Shop Till You Drop … Only in Europe You Say? I beg to differ! The ardent shopper can easily find in Ecuador and Cuenca in particular divine shopping (window or otherwise)! It’s easy to find class, elegance, great selections, uniqueness, and best of all–superb bargains even with inflation beginning to be felt in this part of the world.
The most discriminating of tastes will be satiated in Cuenca’s upscale shops, its markets, its fair trade and family operated handcrafted business enterprises. Let’s don’t forget as well, its numerous artisan and artist operated boutiques. In this beautiful historic city, you will find everything from the Panama Hat which first made this city famous to unique and special ceramics and pure chocolates, as well as silver and gold!
Join me as we embark on a little series of articles that tour some of the awesome selection of shopping delights that this beautiful city offers to locals, expats and visitors alike.

Get your shopping bags ready and come exploring in Cuenca and its environs.
