Ecuador Beach MD

Here is a great story about an Ecuador beach MD.

Inflation is becoming a serious epidemic in the Western world.  See below why China’s inflation could even cause stagflation in the USA.

One way to beat inflation is to live in low cost areas like Ecuador’s middle coast.  In early 2009 a message at this site said:

Ecuador beach view & river property has great potential.

Land like this offers great value.

2008 and 2009 messages pointed out that the area on Ecuador’s coast that has the greatest and fastest potential lies north of Manta to the town of Bahia de Caraquez and said: However my feeling is that the greatest long term potential comes north of Bahia in areas such as San Vicente, Jamas  and Perdenales.

Manta Airport is the key. This is where the growth traffic will come from an international point of view… and the gringo market is a big one… very important.

Here is the area for rapid growth now.

Distance and the Chone Estuary makes it impractical for international tourism to go north of Bahia at this time.

the areas north of Bahia are closer to Quito…  a major local market and… when the bridge across the Chone is finished (it has started…but completion dates are unknown)  the area north could boom.  The Chone barrier has kept some prices down.

Now the bridge is complete and the area is booming. This is a great area to fight inflation, but there are other reasons why this is a great area to be… such as excellent medical care.

A reader just sent this note: If any of you are traveling in the San Clemente area and need a doctor, you should call Dr. Kristina – 09 680 3535.

On our last trip to San Clemente we were returning to the Palmazul after pizza at Meirs place.  Rebecca stepped in a pothole while looking up at the stars and went face first into the pavement.  After I got her back to the hotel, I called Richard Parker in Manta to ask about a doctor in our area.  It is 10:45 when I called Richard.  He gives me a cell number of a doctor in San Clemente.  I contact Cynthia who is Jessica’s sister at Palmazul.

Cynthia speaks perfect English, maybe better than I do.  She called the doctor and 15 minutes later she was knocking on our hotel door, bag in hand.  She stayed 1 1/2 hours, then left and returned at 7:00 AM the next morning to sew up Rebecca’s forehead.  She gave her shots to numb her while she sewed her up, cleaned the gravel and dirt from her hands and knees which were in bad shape. Next she gave her some pills for pain and a shot in the butt to prevent infection.

Now the doctor has been there a total of 3 hours counting the night before.  All the while she never asked us for an insurance card or even any identification.

I asked through Cynthia how much I owed her and she said $70.00.  She was truly a class act and you should put her cell number in your phone.  You can bet Dr. Kristina is in mine.

When we returned to Ft. Myers Rebecca went to see her doctor to have the stitches removed and her doctor said it was one of the best jobs he had seen.  If this had happened in Florida, the cost would have been around $1,500.00 at the ER.

We have enjoyed many stories of this nature. Another reader wrote: Gary,  As an expatriate, having lived in Ecuador for more than 20  years I will also attest to the warmth and genuine interest that most in the medical profession here have for their patients.

This is in direct contrast to the bureaucratic, complex, and coldness of hospitals in the USA.

Having lost both parents in the last three years I am only  too familiar with this. There are too few doctors and the new ones understandably wanting to work less hours and compound this with often overworked nurses and you got a serious problem.

I noted doctors in the USA have little time for follow up after operations and most important very few consider the emotional and mental state of the patient to be very important.

Wheras my Dr. in Ecuador upon any visit first wants to know if I’m happy, depressed, the family life etc, which he rightfully knows has a direct correlation to any medical situations he may encounter.

Good article on hospitals in Cotacachi.  Not planning on immediately visiting but good to know about.  Plus very much enjoyed talking to you the other weekend. Regards,

Ecuador is booming… especially on the coast… in Cuenca and Imbabura. These are areas where real estate is appreciating now. There are many other reason why these areas offer excellent potential… good food… friendly residents and excellent health care as well as caring Mds.

The US dollar is Ecuador’s currency and it has fallen to its lowest level in 16 months. This and Chona’s inflation could even cause stagflation in the USA.  See how to beat this loss with a multi currency portfolio.
